This historical context shapes contemporary society, influencing policies and attitudes toward marginalized groups.

The resurgence of figures like Trump can be seen as a reaction to these underlying tensions. His rhetoric resonates with those who feel disenfranchised, tapping into a desire to reclaim a perceived lost identity. This appeal to nostalgia often overlooks the injustices that underpin American prosperity.

To create a better future, we must confront this harsh history and acknowledge the ongoing impact of systemic racism and inequality. Education plays a crucial role in fostering understanding and empathy. By promoting inclusive narratives that highlight diverse experiences, we can begin to dismantle the structures that perpetuate cruelty.
