CAIR: Lifetime Civic Achievement Award Honoree

We are honored to present Imam Nadim Ali with the Lifetime Civic Achievement Award at our 10th Anniversary Gala.

For nearly two decades, Imam Nadim served as the spiritual leader of The Community Masjid of Atlanta, helping transform Atlanta’s West End into a vibrant hub of Muslim community life. Long associated with the legacy of Imam Jamil Al-Amin, the masjid under Imam Nadim’s leadership became a place of refuge, faith, and belonging for generations of Atlanta Muslims.

In January 2025, Imam Nadim passed the role of imam to Imam Kwame Nkrumah Thomas and continued his service as Imam Emeritus. He describes the transition simply: he is not passing his torch; he is lighting the next one.

A founding member of the Muslim Alliance of North America, Imam Nadim currently serves as board secretary and previously convened the Metro Atlanta Majlis Ash-Shura. Beyond the masjid, he has devoted more than 30 years to serving others as a Licensed Professional Counselor and Master Addiction Counselor, supporting individuals and families through recovery, anger management, violence prevention, and marital challenges.

For decades, Imam Nadim has done the work that rarely makes headlines—the quiet, steady work of strengthening faith, family, and community. We celebrate his extraordinary legacy of service.
