The International Black Women's Public Policy Institute (IBWPPI) is calling on compassionate and dedicated licensed therapists to partner with us in offering critical mental health support to survivors of the devastating Altadena and Hurst fires in Los Angeles County.

The survivors are primarily working - to middle-class families, many of whom are homeowners and professionals.

These individuals and families have lost everything and are beginning the long, challenging journey of rebuilding their lives.

Currently, IBWPPI is working with 25 families, which may include 75-100 individuals, as we extend support with dignity and compassion.

We are seeking licensed therapists, including those specializing in working with men, children and youth, to provide pro bono mental health services via Zoom. We are asking volunteers to contribute up to 4 hours per month of their time to offer 45-minute individual or family therapy sessions.

How It Works
Master Calendar: IBWPPI will maintain a centralized calendar to track available volunteer hours.

Client Scheduling: Impacted individuals and families will sign up for sessions based on the master calendar availability.

Direct Connection: IBWPPI will facilitate the referral, and the therapist will work directly with the clients to provide services.

Volunteer Commitment: A minimum of 4 hours per month (approximately 4-5 sessions) via Zoom.
