The Qatari Prime Minister’s statement is extraordinary. Read the whole thing:

Qatar’s Prime Minister (also the Foreign Minister):

“The Israeli attack that took place today on Qatari soil - we can only call it state terrorism practiced by Netanyahu as part of his systematic policies and ongoing attempts to destabilize regional security and stability.

It is a clear message to the entire region: there is a rogue actor here, there is ongoing political bullying, and there are violations of state sovereignty. Netanyahu himself declared that he would “reshape the Middle East.” Is this his message, that he intends to reshape the Gulf as well?

We believe we have reached a critical moment where the entire region must respond to such barbaric actions. They reflect nothing but the savagery of this man who is leading the region to a level that, unfortunately, cannot be repaired and disregards international norms and laws.

This attack not only violated international law, but also moral standards. Qatar is an official mediator hosting formal negotiations with official sponsorship, with delegations present. Yet missiles were launched to target the negotiating delegation of the other side. By what moral standard can this be acceptable?

This is nothing but treachery. Treachery may be expected from such a person, but what is shocking is that such behavior is pursued systematically by someone who claims to be achieving stability while only destabilizing the region for his narcissistic personal interests.

In recent days, negotiations were continuing intensively at the request of the U.S. side, to discuss the latest paper received from Washington. Despite that, and with the full knowledge of the Israeli side—which continued to send delegations to Doha—it worked to sabotage every attempt to find an opportunity for peace.

Does the world need a clearer message than this about who is closing the door to peace? Does the international community need further proof of who the bully in this region is?

History will record this incident. International law and norms must take it into account. Violating state sovereignty so recklessly and with such disregard cannot be ignored, and all necessary measures must be taken against it.

We have maintained constant contact with all friendly and brotherly states to take measures regarding this attack. We will announce, God willing, all actions we take in the coming days.”
