Being a Prophetic Voice: Mercy as a Tool for Uniting Community (Focus on Serrah of the Prophet)

The Prophet (PBUH) was constantly persecuted day after day, yet never reacted negatively and transformed many of his bullies into believers. The political turmoil here at home and abroad can feel overwhelming. At times, we may ask ourselves: what can we really do to make an impact? The good news is that our Islamic tradition gives us countless examples of finding strength during tough times and spells out formulas for creating tangible success within our communities. How can we utilize the techniques of the Prophet (PBUH) to create accountability or surpass being a victim? This session focused on the importance of exemplifying the Prophetic tradition in our private lives and community affairs and explored practical ways to help us manage our differences.

Session 4: Empowerment through Education: Developing Talents to Transform and Transcend in the age of ID

The first divine decree was to read and educate ourselves in the name of God (96:1) because education is the key to enlightened minds, fostering courage to harmonize religion and nation without conflict. It shapes our minds and hearts to embrace differences while collectively pursing shared resolutions. Muslim Americans carry a proud legacy of Islamic institutions, seminaries, and educational platforms for decades on American soil. It is imperative to engage with and expand upon this legacy further to ensure timely contribution to society.

Amazing start to the ISNA Regional Conference Atlanta in Collaboration with YMTA. We started with an opening

session with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an by Qari Safiullah Khan and introductions by Basharat Saleem, Conference Chair Erfan Quadri and Youth Representatives Maryam Aamir that led into our other sessions.

We have had many sessions thus far including Faith Beyond Words: Transformative Personal Change with Suzy Ismail and Wisam Sharieff, Cultivating Love and Tranquility in the Family with Suzy Ismail, Yousuf Raza, and Saad Tasleem, and Islamic Finance Halal Money Mastery with Hud Williams and Bukhari Nuriddin. There was also a youth session, Why Islam? Understanding the Foundations of Faith with Samir Wahid, Muhammad Jafari and Wisam Shareiff.

We appreciate first Allah but also all the attendees, sponsors, vendors, organizers, speakers, and all those who have helped make this an amazing event come to life. More pictures and videos to come!
