Masjid Visit 13 Ramadan 1438 Al Farooq Masjid of Atlanta

On June 8th, a group of 13 Christians visited Al Farooq Masjid to learn about Muslims and how to relate to them.  Since it is the month of Ramadan, the month on the lunar calendar where they Muslims fast during daylight hours, the group was also able to learn about how fasting during this month is one of the five pillars of Islam.  They also saw first hand the hospitality offered by the mosque and even later joined then for Iftar (the evening meal where Muslims break their fast).  Perhaps the highlight for the group was seeing the many commonalities Muslims and Christians have with one another and how they can be a basis for starting new friendships.
