Protesters will meet in front of the NFL headquarters in New York today in support of Colin Kaepernick.

Kaepernick who played for the San Francisco 49ers in the 2016-2017 NFL season protested against police brutality in each of his games by taking a knee during the playing of the national anthem. In an interview with NFL.com Kaepernick said, “I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color.”

After protesting, Kaepernick has not been allowed to play in the NFL and has since had issues getting onto teams because of his silent protest. Other NFL players have shown their support for Kaepernick and his protest like the Cleveland Browns. 13 players took a knee during the playing of the national anthem in their game against the New York Giants.

The New York Justice league led by activist Tamika Mallory is holding ” United We Stand” rally in protest against the NFL black balling Kaepernick. Mallory is known for leading the Women’s March in Washington D.C.
