Everyone who Trump dumped was up there standing and shouting their heart out at the Democratic Convention: Latinos were there! African Americans! Muslims were there alongside the rest of America, Whites and Native Americans. And this was not orchestrated in response to Trump’s divisive talk. The Democratic Party actually requires in its by-laws to have a 50% non-white and a gender-diverse delegation. In the Republican convention, the camera had to struggle to find diversity.   Linda Sarsour,  a Board member of the Muslim Democrats, is currently attending the DNC convention, as is our Director, Harish Patel. Keith Ellison, the first ever Muslim elected to the US Congress, thanks to the Democratic Party, announced as loud as he can: “When they bring the fear, we bring the courage.” And then came the revolution! Clinton & Sanders together have written the platform of the Democratic Party, which calls for, among other things: $15 minimum wage Free college tuition Public option for health insurance Banning private prisons Rep. Keith Ellison introduced Senator Bernie Sanders as the last keynote speakers of the first day of the Democratic Convention. Let us organize now!
