Dr. Abdullah Hakim Quick is an American-Canadian Muslim scholar, historian, and lecturer known for his extensive travels and work in Islamic studies. Born in the USA and a convert to Islam, he was the first American to graduate from the Islamic University of Medina in 1979 and holds a PhD in African history from the University of Toronto.

• • Background: Born in the USA (Cambridge, MA), he later moved to Canada. He is of African and Native American descent.
  • Education: He graduated from the Islamic University of Medina (1979) and later earned an MA and PhD in African History from the University of Toronto
    .

• Career: He has served as an imam, teacher, and counselor in the USA, Canada, South Africa, and the West Indies. He is a senior lecturer with the Islamic Institute of Toronto and a researcher specializing in African history, slavery, and Islam in the Caribbean.
• Focus: He is known for his work in history, social activism, and dawah. He has traveled to over 60 countries.
• Online Presence: He is featured on Muslim Central and on Instagram. 

His work often focuses on educating on the history of Islam in Africa and the Americas.
