Dear AlMaghrib Students,

 

It's been a while since I participated in IlmSummit! As most of you are aware, I took an academic leave last year to spend some time with family. But now I am rested and back, and looking forward to an exciting IlmSummit 2015. 

 

It's been eight years since we began this journey, and each year has only gotten bigger and better. And this year, we return to the city of IlmSummit's birth (and, perhaps not coincidentally, the city of my birth as well!!) Houston, TX. 

 

The dates are Aug 7th to Aug 15th 2015. You can find all the logistical details on our website.

 

I want to make a SPECIAL APPEAL to our regular students: IlmSummit was meant for you to immerse yourselves in an academic and spiritual environment, of tarbiyya and tazkiyya and ilm, surrounded by fellow students, interacting one on one with your teachers, praying together, eating together, laughing and bonding and making new friends even as you increase in iman! And, alhamdulillah, I can personally testify to the fact that IlmSummit is the single greatest event all of us look forward to every year, for even us Instructors, as it reminds us of our years when we as well were students immersed in studying Islam. 

 

This year, we will have our usual line-up of Sh. Yaser Birjas, Sh. Waleed Basyouni, and your truly. Also, we will have joining us Sh. Omer Sulaiman and Ustadh Wisam Sharieff. 

 

We will be sending you a more detailed email about the topics soon, but as any of you who have attended knows, alhamdulillah whatever topic is chosen always comes out to be extremely beneficial and iman-building. 

 

Our previous IlmSummit students have all praised IlmSummit and their experiences at IlmSummit as being one of the most life-changing experiences of their lifetimes. Don't miss out on this year's opportunity to reconnect with your faith, and to immerse yourself in a sea of tranquility, knowledge, worship, brotherhood/sisterhood, and spirituality!
