Aneesa Muthana, president of Pioneer Service in Addison, is a potential customer. The $5 million machine shop employs 40 supplying parts to Tesla, NASA and medical device makers. She's considering whether a cobot could speed up the deburring process and eliminate the backlog there. With return on investment in two years or less, she expects to bite the bullet in the next six months.

But she plans to address "the elephant in the room" with her workforce first: "No one's losing their job." Rather, she thinks that if she automates deburring, she can quote more aggressively and land more jobs.
