الحمد لله رب العالمين و الصلاة و السلام على أشرف الأنبياء و المرسلين نبينا محمد و على آله و صحبه أجمعين , و من تبعهم بإحسان إلى يوم الدين
أما بعد :

السلام عليكم و رحمة الله و بركاته

قال عليه السلام : " كلكم راع وكلكم مسئول عن رعيته

قُلۡ إِنَّ صَلَاتِى وَنُسُكِى وَمَحۡيَاىَ وَمَمَاتِى لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِينَ (١٦٢) لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ ۥۖ وَبِذَٲلِكَ أُمِرۡتُ وَأَنَا۟ أَوَّلُ ٱلۡمُسۡلِمِينَ (١٦٣

لله ما أخذ ولله ما أعطى

الحمد لله رب العالمين القائل في كتابه المبين «ولنبلونكم بشيء من الخوف والجوع ونقص من الأموال والأنفس والثمرات، وبشر الصابرين الذين إذا أصابتهم مصيبة قالوا إنا لله وإنا إليه راجعون، أولئك عليهم صلوات من ربهم ورحمة وأولئك هم المهتدون»، والقائل سبحانه «إنك ميت وإنهم ميتون».

It is with much sadness that we convey our most sincere condolences to the family of our beloved sister Nasra Smith.

Sister Nasra was one of the pioneers of the Atlanta Muslim, most well know for her service to the Muslim and Non-Muslim community as a giving and caring midwife for a span of over 40 years, here in the Muslim community. Our beloved sister and comrade returned to her Lord on Wednesday, June 8, 2022. May Allah forgive her shortcomings and allow her to ender Paradise.

Janaza to be held on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at the Lovejoy Cemetary, 1510 Lovejoy Rd, Hampton, Georgia 30250 .

passed on to the Ancestors. She delivered Omar, Kebba and Fadil as well as assisted with other births. Her gentle spirit, soft and wise voice, tiny frame but HUGE heart will surely carry her thru to the gates of Heaven. Known far and wide, I am sure she lost count of all the babies she caught over the decades. She taught me how to cook vegan foods, get a grip on my lil monster kids when they were young, set up my garden, as well as allowed me to assist her at quite a few homebirths in the 80's. Her faith was personal and strong, but she never pressured anyone to comply with her beliefs. I know she felt all the prayers (duas) that surrounded her these past few days. Thank you, friends and family for all the beautiful prayers and powerful good wishes. It is now in the hands of Allah. Ameen.

My deepest condolences to all of the elder midwives and to Mama Nasrah’s family. It was my honor to share space, gain a bit of wisdom and to meet her physically in person. Her smile was as wide and bright as the universe. Her presence as deep as an elder oak tree’s roots. The ancestral realm has gained a beautiful soul and the birth community has lost a wonderful elder.
