Dar Un Noor School 34 Years In The Making...

celebrate 34 years of serving the Atlanta community. On this 8th day of Ramadan, the atmosphere was intimate and the program was short and sweet. The organizers had two objectives for the evening- 1: to provide an update on the school to the community and 2: to recognize the contributions of individuals in front of the community.
The attendees included a whose who of Dar Un Noor Administrators from the past, current teachers/board members, trustees, and parent volunteers. Over 50 awards were distributed and the teachers also got a $200 gift card each (originally it was $100 but it was matched by a moved donor in the audience). Awardees took to the mic to share fond stories and on more than one occasion tears of joy and emotion could not be held back from speakers and audience members alike.
The program began and end with words from the Quran and concluded with Asr Prayer. Everyone was given parting iftar to go boxes of halal Peri Peri Chicken and Lamb and although everyone left with empty stomachs, they left full of energy and and optimism about the future of Dar Un Noor.
