Georgia Fort is an independent, Emmy-winning journalist and media entrepreneur based in the Twin Cities who focuses on race, policing, and social justice, and who was recently arrested after filming an anti-ICE protest at a St. Paul church.

Fort is a three-time Midwest Emmy Award-winning journalist, and vice president of the Minnesota chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ), with more than 15 years of experience in commercial and nonprofit radio and television news.

Georgia Fort, a Minneapolis-based independent, Emmy-winning journalist, was

arrested by federal agents on January 30, 2026, for covering an anti-ICE protest at a St. Paul church on January 18. Fort, who specializes in social justice and founded BLCK Press, was charged with federal crimes including interfering with religious freedom.
