The Israel War On Gaza… The children of Gaza are as important as children in any part of the world. These babies are being starved to death for no reason other than they are Palestinian. The world must do something to stop this madness. Every child is important!
Genocide In Gaza
As of late August 2025, over 18,000 children have been killed in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, according to reports from humanitarian organizations and the Gaza Ministry of Health. This number does not include thousands more believed to be under rubble.
Total children killed or injured: As of May 2025, UNICEF reported that more than 50,000 children have been killed or injured.
Gaza
Global condemnation is growing over Israel's military offensive and the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza, where a famine was officially declared in late August 2025. The international community, including the United Nations and numerous countries, has called for an immediate and permanent ceasefire.
Humanitarian crisis
International alarm is centered on the dire humanitarian situation and the famine declared by the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC), a UN-backed global monitor.
  • Famine declared: On August 22, 2025, the IPC confirmed that Gaza City and its surrounding areas are experiencing famine, with experts saying it was "man-made" and preventable. The IPC reported that over half a million Palestinians are facing catastrophic levels of hunger.
  • Worsening conditions: UN officials and humanitarian groups warn that the famine is spreading southward and that the situation is "deteriorating sharply". Malnutrition is rampant, particularly among children, and the health system is on the verge of total collapse.
  • Aid blockades: The international community has repeatedly accused Israel of obstructing humanitarian aid deliveries, despite calls from the International Court of Justice (ICJ) to allow full access. Aid agencies report that essential supplies are stockpiled at the border but cannot get through.
Escalating conflict
Ongoing military operations are also drawing heavy international criticism. Israel is pressing forward with a major offensive into Gaza City, despite warnings of catastrophic humanitarian consequences.
  • Offensive on Gaza City: As of late August 2025, Israel is moving ahead with its plan to take over Gaza City. The military has called for the "inevitable" displacement of residents and has intensified bombardment, destroying entire blocks.
  • Attacks on civilians: Recent attacks, such as a strike on Nasser Hospital that killed at least 20 people including journalists, have led to widespread condemnation over potential breaches of international law.
  • Collapsing ceasefire talks: While Hamas agreed to a 60-day ceasefire proposed by mediators, Israel has not formally responded. The ongoing offensive suggests that the ceasefire talks are in jeopardy, undermining the potential for a truce.
International reactions
  • United Nations: UN Secretary-General António Guterres has described the situation as a "man-made disaster, a moral indictment, and a failure of humanity itself," while other UN officials have called the famine a "war crime". A joint statement from 14 of 15 UN Security Council members called for Israel to lift all aid restrictions.
  • United States: The US position has received criticism, with its ambassador questioning the credibility of the IPC famine report. President Trump hosted Israeli officials at the White House to discuss post-war Gaza plans, but critics have noted the administration's continued backing of Israel.
  • European nations: Countries like the UK, Germany, and Italy have condemned the offensive and famine. Germany, a historically staunch ally of Israel, has notably announced it will stop exporting military equipment that could be used in Gaza.
  • Human Rights groups: Organizations like Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International state that Israel is using starvation as a weapon of war. Human Rights Watch has also warned that US forces could be legally liable for assisting Israeli forces in committing war crimes.
Domestic pressure in Israel
The Israeli government is facing growing internal pressure to end the conflict.
  • Hostage protests: Tens of thousands of protesters have gathered in Israeli cities, demanding a ceasefire deal to secure the release of remaining hostages held by Hamas.
  • Political divisions: Critics, including some Israeli opposition leaders, have accused the Netanyahu government of deliberately undermining ceasefire efforts.
According to a UN-backed report, famine is occurring in the Gaza Strip, with more than half a million people facing widespread starvation
. The Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) confirmed a "worst-case scenario" famine in Gaza City and warned that catastrophic hunger is projected to spread to other areas of the territory in the coming weeks.
Status of the hunger crisis
  • Famine declared: On August 22, 2025, the IPC officially confirmed that famine had taken hold in the Gaza Governorate, including Gaza City. This is the first time a famine has been declared in the Middle East region.
  • Widespread starvation: Over 500,000 people are currently facing starvation and destitution, and that number is projected to rise to 640,000 by the end of September.
  • Acute malnutrition: The IPC reports that 132,000 children under five are at risk of acute malnutrition, with over 43,000 facing a high risk of death.
  • Escalating deaths: Aid officials have reported hundreds of deaths due to malnutrition or violence at aid distribution sites. As of August 26, 2025, the Palestinian Health Ministry reported at least 303 starvation-related deaths, including 117 children.
Causes of the hunger crisis
International aid agencies and the UN attribute the humanitarian catastrophe to an Israeli blockade and military actions in the Gaza Strip.
  • Aid restrictions: A blockade on Gaza since the start of the war has significantly limited the flow of food, water, and fuel. In March 2025, aid was completely cut off for nearly three months. When limited aid was later resumed, some aid groups accused Israel of using restrictions as a tactic of war. Israel disputes these claims, asserting that Hamas steals aid intended for civilians.
  • Destruction of food systems: Israeli airstrikes have systematically destroyed Gaza's food production infrastructure, including bakeries, flour mills, food storage facilities, and agricultural land.
  • Disruption of aid distribution: The militarization of aid distribution by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, which is backed by the US and Israel, has created chaos and danger for civilians. Since May 2025, over 1,300 people have been killed while attempting to access aid at these distribution centers.
  • Internal displacement: Repeated forced displacements have left most of the population—around 1.9 million people—in makeshift shelters with no way to produce or access food.
International response and accountability
The hunger crisis has prompted international calls for action and raised accusations of war crimes.
  • UN condemnation: UN Secretary-General António Guterres called the famine "a man-made disaster" and a "failure of humanity itself". UN officials and other international bodies have reminded states that the use of starvation as a weapon is a war crime.
  • ICC warrants: In November 2024, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli leaders, citing "reasonable grounds" to believe they are criminally responsible for the war crime of starvation as a method of warfare.
  • Calls for ceasefire: The World Health Organization and other humanitarian organizations have repeatedly called for an immediate and permanent ceasefire to enable the safe and unimpeded delivery of aid.
  • US position: The United States has rejected the IPC famine declaration, questioning its methodology and asserting that Israel has allowed aid into Gaza.

Starvation strategy:  How Israel created famine in Gaza

A new investigation (PDF) by research group Forensic Architecture (FA) has found that the Israeli military has pursued a deliberate strategy of starvation that has pushed Gaza towards famine.

INTERACTIVE-GAZA-AID-DISTRIBUTION-POSTER-1748504405
The report details how Israel has weaponised aid, forcing Palestinians to travel long distances to reach military-run distribution centres in the south of the Strip, while opening fire on those same civilians as they seek aid.

Researchers documented attacks on civilians, the destruction of infrastructure such as food warehouses, and looting by Israeli-backed gangs.

Gaza 2025

"Mother... I am dying of hunger. My bones have emerged from under my skin.

There is nothing left in my body that indicates that I am a child. I try to breathe, but I find no strength.

I try to sleep, but the pain does not subside. I cry, but no one hears me. The whole world is watching me as I slowly melt away, and no one extends a hand.

I looked into my mother's eyes and said: Save me. She cried and whispered: Forgive me, my daughter, for I am dying like you. I have no food, no medicine, not even a way out for you. We are dying, my little one...

We are dying in silence, before eyes that do not see, and hearts that do not feel. This is not a story from the past. This is Gaza now, where children are killed by hunger, not by bombs, and death does not come running, but creeps in the form of merciless hunger
