The Day(s) After November 5th: A Vision

Whatever the final outcome of the 2024 election, I believe strongly that America will be forever changed. The duopoly has failed to keep its "promise" and is facing substantial challenges to remain a duopoly. In fact, its unraveling has a beginning long before 2024 but that history is for another teachable moment.

Immediately following election night there will be gross uncertainty, possibly chaos and maybe even violence. The weeks leading to January 20, will be filled with a tension unparalleled in modern election history. We need to be spiritually and psychologically prepared to sift through the lies, the accusations and confrontations of a T_rump loss, if in fact he loses, and if he wins we must be organized to resist the granular deconstruction of an imperfect experiment in democracy. Either way, we've got work.

Project 2025 isn't new. It is the product of a Conservative Republican party gone rogue. It is a granular plan, a systematic unraveling of our political system, our democracy reimagined in several configurations since the 1980s. It manifested in a first iteration known as The Tea Party and is re-emerging in part, in Trump's Agenda 47.

It has evolved over an estimated 40+years and is currently under the authority of an understated threat, understated because he's perceived as a man in a clown suit with orange hair. The Movement is known as MAGA (Make America Great Again), some experts say it has the earmarkings of a cult.

If I am fully transparent, I have to acknowledge the genius of this plan. Have you ever heard the saying: You can see Islam but you don't see the Muslims? I believe they cracked the code; they are informed, patient and have persevered. They sacrificed their wealth and raised a generation or two committed to their objective and built a solid infrastructure to carry out their mission.

The Democratic Party watched with eyes wide shut while consistently failing on issues of importance to what remains of an African American agenda and concern for marginalized communities, with Gaza illuminating the true nature of what we thought of as "the party of compassion and justice".

They habitually ghost us, the voters, until we're needed for the next election cycle and accept little to no responsibility for their failure. So the days after this election cycle will need to be rigorously reimagined in our dealings with them.

Fortunately for us, Allah has given them respite for only a short time as prescribed by Him, azza wa jal: Abu Musa reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Verily, Allah Almighty will give respite to the wrongdoer until He seizes him and they cannot escape.” Then, the Prophet recited the verse, “Such is the seizure of your Lord, when He takes hold of the cities while they are doing wrong. Verily, His seizure is agonizing and severe.” (Surah Hud 11:102)

As an Ummah of diverse American citizens, we have an opportunity to establish a prophetic model of leadership as servant leaders while organizing our communities to emerge politically powerful, competent, caring and morally upright. We'll need to become religiously and civically literate, conjure up an Islamic worldview, and advantage the Promise of Allah.

If we do, we can lead a new America in cooperation with like-minded visionaries, into a Golden Age where our Humanity is centered in all actions, great or small. It's time to face in, it's time to build.

Allah promises those who believe and do good deeds that they will be granted succession to authority on earth. Succession, establishment, and safety – a promise from Allah reserved for the Muslims, but with a condition: "That they worship me (Allah) and do not associate anything with me." An-Nūr: 55.

So there will be no rest for the weary. Just a pause to gather our thoughts.
