When we think about iblis and what his biggest SIN was, usually what comes to mind and what were told is, PRIDE.

With that pride of course comes many other things, such as him being the first racist of creation siting his creation as better than Adam’s.

But when Iblis told Allah swt he would lead us astray, he said “you will find MOST of them “UNGRATEFUL”

Interesting choice. Why ungrateful?

You see, iblis knows something that we should all know and never forget, gratefulness to Allah swt is what opens all doors.

Allah swt says in Sarah Ibrahim, “if you are grateful, surely no doubt i will increase you” he doesn’t mention what he will increase us in, so that means it can be ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING we ask of him swt. Forgiveness, mercy, wealth, health, companionships, happiness, emotional stability, contentment, etc.

Shaytan wasn’t grateful to Allah swt for the mercy and honor bestowed on him so he was cast out of Allahs presence.

Let us not follow in his footsteps. No matter where we are in live, lets remain grateful to Allah swt for what he has blessed us with. When we do, Allah swt will increase us in ways we could never think of.

Ramadan reflections #2

Fridays are the days for Muslims, best day of the week, the day we’re supposed to recite a very important Surah!

An important reflection that we maybe can benefit from that may have never crossed our minds.

The Surah before SURAH KAHF is suratul Isra, the last ayah of the Surah Allah swt says,

“And say, "Praise to Allah, who has not taken a son and has had no partner in [His] dominion and has no [need of a] protector out of weakness; and glorify Him with [great] glorification."

And the very next Surah Allah swt begins it with a response to the last Ayah by saying

“[All] praise is [due] to Allah, who has sent down upon His Servant the Book and has not made therein any deviance”

A command and a response to the command right away!

This is the life of a Muslim, the life of a Believer! This is what we aspire to!

We hear the command of Allah SWT and right away we OBEY!

May Allah swt allow us to be as the likes of Abu Bakr where he never questioned, never doubted, never needed any time! As soon as he was told he accepted!

Jumuah Mubarak!! Beloveds! And may we continue to benefit from ramadan and may Allah swt accept our Ibadah! From the fasts to the prayers and charity!
