Aisha Yaqoob

Aisha Yaqoob launched the Georgia Muslim Voter Project (GAMVP) in late 2015 to increase voter registration and to educate the Muslim community about the importance of getting involved in the political process.
Alia El-Sawi
 
Alia El-Sawi is a Victim Assistance Specialist at ICE - Homeland Security Investigations, where she transformed HSI's focus from not only enforcing the law but to also empowering victims of human trafficking, calling for improvements in how victims were questioned and treated. 
Edward Ahmed Mitchell
Edward Ahmed Mitchell serves as Executive Director of the Georgia chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-GA). 
Dr. Hammad Aslam
 
Dr. Aslam earned his medical degree in 2014 and is at a residency program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation. While continuing to advocate for the rights of people with disabilities, he hopes to change the perception people have of them. 
Hiba Ghalib
 
Hiba Ghalib is a partner with a premier immigration law firm in Atlanta, Georgia, aiding immigrants and their families in immigration issues, asylum, and deportation and removal defense.

Hussein Abdelhalim
 
Hussein Abdelhalim earned a Master's of Science in Electrical Engineering at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he helped launch a Muslim mentorship program for high school students.  Hussein currently serves as an Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company's Atlanta office.

Ibrahim Awad

Ibrahim Awad, a graduate of Georgia State University Law School, is a criminal defense and personal injury attorney in Atlanta, Georgia with his firm, The Awad Law Firm.  Awad expresses how important it is for individuals to learn their rights, how to respond to authorities in an effective and legal manner, and how to avoid injustice. 
Ihsan Saleem

Ihsan Saleem recently co-founded Titan Partners, a socially-inspired investment management firm. Ihsan's businesses provide clean, safe, and affordable housing to more than 3,000 people in the metro-Atlanta area and New York City. Ihsan  has also been active in helping establish the Atlanta chapter of IMAN, the Inner-City Muslim Action Network, a nonprofit grassroots community action organization.

Jaha Dukureh
Determined to end the atrocious practice of female genital mutilation (FGM), Jaha Dukureh pioneered a non-profit organization, Safe Hands for Girls, giving girls and women fleeing from the practice of FGM their voices back while simultaneously raising awareness about the practice that is not restricted to Muslim countries. 
Kinda Abdus Saboor

After receiving her law degree from Emory University School of Law, Kinda Abdus-Saboor joined The Secret Firm, P.C., where she worked as an associate attorney and served as second chair in pre-trial hearings and in court proceedings. Abdus-Saboor joined the Georgia State University College of Law faculty as a Lecturer in the Externship Department where she focuses on exposing students to the skills of effective lawyering, communication, and cultural awareness.
M. Khurram Baig

M. Khurram Baig founded The Baig Firm in 2012 with the intention of providing underserved Muslims with a powerful legal voice.  His professional reputation has earned him appointments as the first Muslim to the Georgia Supreme Court's Commission on Interpreters and the Advisory Board for the Emory University Center for Ethics.

Mansoor Sabree

Mansoor Sabree served as Senior Imam and Director of the Atlanta Masjid of Al­-Islam. Recently, Sabree is excited to begin a new social justice venture called Inner City Muslim Action Network ­(IMAN) Atlanta. Sabree's vision for the next few years is to further develop IMAN as a model organization for establishing the Muslim tradition of facilitating transformative change in urban communities.

Dr. Laura Badwan

Dr. Laura Badwan  is currently a pediatrician at Scottish Rite of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. In the future, Dr. Badwan hopes to launch a pediatric product to monitor a child's developmental progress, and wishes to provide these products to underserved communities.

Munir Ismail Meghjani

Munir Ismail Meghjani is the co-founder and Executive Director of HOPE Inc, Helping Organizations and People Everywhere, which re-engages young adults and has mobilized more than 7,000 people in service while connecting them with multiple non-profits locally and internationally. 
Musheer Ahmed
Musheer Ahmed is the founder of FraudScope,  which targets healthcare-related fraud claims and was voted as the top 4 companies to launch in Georgia in 2016. His goal is to reduce health care costs for every American by eliminating fraud and putting that money back to real patient care.

Nirouz Elhammali

Elhammali earned a juris doctorate with honors from Emory University School of Law. In her current practice as a healthcare associate at Parker Hudson Rainer & Dobbs LLP, Elhammali represents non-profit hospitals, healthcare systems, and individuals working in the health industry on a range of regulatory, corporate, and compliance issues.
Omar Hamid

An entrepreneur focused on innovation and design, Omar Hamid is the co-founder of the world's largest crowdfunding platform for Muslims around the world, LaunchGood.com. In 2015, Hamid won second place in Stars of Science Season for his invention, Sanda, the world's first chair designed specifically for the mosque.

Osama Hashmi

Osama Hashmi is the chief executive officer and co-founder of Vitamin C, a healthcare technology startup which seeks to provide simple patient-doctor connections. Hashmi earned the title of UGA's Next Top Entrepreneur for his revolutionary software and idea to track the progress of patients during treatment or rehabilitation through simple feedback from patients over the Internet.

Shaheen Bharde serves as Roswell Community Masjid (RCM)'s Director of Public Relations, where she has forged new alliances, organized fundraising occasions, and directed interfaith initiatives. Bharde is a nationally certified neuromuscular therapist providing therapy to critical care patients in the metro-Atlanta area. 
Shannaan Dawda

Shannaan Dawda is author of a five-star book, From Paychecks to Power: 7 Power Moves to Unlock Wealth Building to educate readers about financial liberation. Dawda is a Certified Personal Accountant and founder of his own financial coaching company, True Financial. 
Shuaib Hanief 
To represent Muslims in all their diversity, Shuaib Hanief created AtlantaMuslim.com to offer a free platform for Atlanta Muslims to publish opinions, communicate news, advertise events, search for jobs, and buy and sell goods. By providing a glimpse at the inner workings of the Muslim community, the website challenges mainstream depictions of Muslims.
Tosif A. Chouhan

After graduating from Nova Southeastern University's Shepard Broad College of Law, Chouhan completed Gideon's Promise, a three-year program, which focuses on advanced trial skills and representing indigent defendants. As an attorney with the Fulton County Public Defender's Office, Chouhan is dedicated to every client regardless of their socioeconomic status, and has successfully represented individuals in a number of cases receiving media attention.
Dr. Yousuf Khalifa

Dr. Yousuf Khalifa serves as the Chair of the Global Ophthalmology committee at Emory University Hospital, Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at Emory School of Medicine, and Chief of Ophthalmology at Grady Memorial Hospital. Of these and other accomplishments, including 48 research publications, he is most proud of training residents and fellows, who go on to care for thousands of people in their communities.
Zaynab Ansari

Zaynab Ansari is an instructor and scholar-in-residence at Tayseer Seminary in Knoxville, Tennessee, an institution that provides formal academic training in Islamic Studies. Ansari teaches several of these classes, and has traveled both nationally and internationally as a public speaker on Islam. She also worked extensively with Qibla for the Islamic Sciences, and has been a contributor to MuslimMatters, SeekersHub, Lamppost Productions and Azizah Magazine.
