I returned to my beloved Howard University to deliver the Jummah khutbah and a mini-Islamic Party in North America

reunion broke out. I was surprised to see (left to right) Br. Munir Abdul Lateef, Br. Anwar, Br. Sharief Hashim, and Friend of the IP, Br. Shareef. After the service was over, the Muslim Student Association of Howard University presented me a beautiful MSA long sleeve tee shirt and a Certificate of Appreciation for my 50-years of service to the Muslim community in the United States. I am grateful to be able to play the role of an elder and to pass on experiences and advise to the next generation of Muslim youth. Alhamdulillah.

After graduating from high school in North Carolina, Washington, DC is where I matured into manhood,

developed a mature socio-political analysis, started marital life and fatherhood, and most importantly embraced Islam. My longings for a brother never materialized as a child. But, after becoming Muslim, I have become part of a global brotherhood that I cherish until this day.
