Two years of presidency of Ibrahim Traoré in Burkina Faso: report since taking office as head of the country

1. Burkina Faso's GDP increased from about $18.8 billion to $22.1 billion.

2. He rejected loans from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank, saying: "Africa does not need the World Bank, the IMF, Europe or the United States." »

3. He reduced the salaries of ministers and parliamentarians by 30%.

4. He cleared Burkina Faso's internal debt.

5. He created the country's first tomato processing plants.

6. In 2023 it launched a modern gold mine to boost local processing capacity.

7. He has stopped the export of crude gold from Burkina Faso to Europe.

8. He ended the 11 colonial agreements

9. He inaugurated the National Center for Support for the Artisanal Processing of Cotton, the first of its kind, to help local cotton producers.

10. He banned the use of British legal wigs and dresses in local courts, replacing them with traditional Burkinabe outfits.

11. He has prioritised agriculture by distributing over 400 tractors, 239 motorcycles, 710 motor pumps and 714 motorcycles to improve production and support rural communities.

12. It has facilitated access to improved seeds and other agricultural inputs to maximize agricultural yields.

13. Tomato production has increased from 315,000 metric tonnes in 2022 to 360,000 metric tons in 2024

14. Millet production increased from 907,000 metric tonnes in 2022 to 1.1 million metric tonnes by 2024

15. Rice production has increased from 280,000 metric tonnes in 2022 to 326,000 metric tons in 2024

16. He has banned French military operations in Burkina Faso.

17. He banned French media from operating in the country.

18. He expelled French troops from Burkina Faso.

Global Black Solidarity Movement Rises: Diaspora and Continental Protest in Support of Burkina Faso Set for April 30th 2025.

A powerful wave of pan-African solidarity is sweeping across the globe as preparations intensify for a massive continental and diaspora-wide protest scheduled for April 30, 2025, in support of Burkina Faso and its transitional leader, Captain Ibrahim Traoré. Under the banner #HandsOffBurkinaFaso and #IbrahimTraore, this movement is quickly gaining momentum, echoing calls for unity, sovereignty, and resistance against neocolonial interference in African affairs.

The protest, already underway in parts of Italy, is poised to become a historic demonstration of Black unity. Organizers and supporters from across Jamaica, the Caribbean, the United States, Europe, and the African continent are mobilizing through social media platforms, community networks, and activist organizations to amplify the message: “Touch one Black man, you touch all.”

Framed by many as the "biggest match in Black history," this coordinated action marks a significant moment in the global assertion of African agency and the defense of self-determination. Supporters are calling on the Black diaspora worldwide to show up, speak out, and stand strong for a new vision of Africa—one that is free from exploitation and rooted in dignity, leadership, and pride.

“This is more than a protest,” said one organizer via social media. “It’s a moment of reckoning. We are no longer waiting for history to be made—we are writing it ourselves.”

The movement highlights growing admiration for Captain Ibrahim Traoré, seen by many as a symbol of resistance and a bold advocate for African sovereignty. Under his leadership, Burkina Faso has taken firm stances against foreign military presence and continues to push for self-reliant security and development strategies.

As April 30 approaches, social media is expected to play a pivotal role in the mobilization, with activists urging supporters to flood platforms with solidarity posts, videos, and messages tagged with #HandsOffBurkinaFaso and #IbrahimTraore.

Supporters are calling for unity across borders, ideologies, and generations, declaring this the dawn of a new era—the 21st century as the African century

Oh my ... I have never seen such a global mobilisation to support a human being , apart from Mandela. This time , the whole world is behind this young man and people are not just making noise , they are ready to support him anyhow anywhere , with everything they have. We betrayed Gadaffi but we won't do this unfortunate mistake twice.It brings hope to my heart. Africa is definitely awakening and nothing can stop it. Oyeee My President ! Oyeee Ibrahim Traore
