2019: African Slaves Dedication Service

Cedar Grove United Methodist Church cordially invites you to attend our Dedication Sunday

Service, Sunday, September 15, 2019,  in memory of the Cedar Grove slave community buried in unmarked graves at the Cedar Grove Cemetery. We will be dedicating a beautiful memorial bench in their memory. This historical occasion comes as the African American community marks the 400th year anniversary of the arrival of the first African slaves in America. 

 

Please come out and bring family and friends to worship on Sunday, September 15. During Service you will learn more about the significance of this dedication to the church and our community. The Service will be held at Cedar Grove United Methodist Church, 3430 Bouldercrest Rd. Conley, Ga. 30288. We will conclude service with a brief ceremony at the Cemetery, located only a couple of blocks away on Connor Dr.  Please bring comfortable shoes. The wearing of white “in loving memory” is optional.
