Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi rajioon. Our beloved Brother Bilal Shabazz Jihad has returned to Allah. Please make dua'a for him

and his family. His janazah will be Monday, March 31, 2025 at 1 PM at Atlanta Masjid of Al-Islam.

Umar Clark:  "13 years ago I was in the UAE, and I had been there for a few months, so I started to get a little home sick: I decided that I was going to find an English speaking masjid(They were rare in Abu Dhabi at that time) so I could find some Americans. Khalilah Al-Hindi (May Allah have mercy on her soul) found one for me and then that Friday I took a taxi to the masjid. I get out the Taxi and start heading toward the masjid and the first person I see in Abu Dhabi of all places is Brother Bilal. He embraced me like we used to embrace at the Atlanta masjid and he told me he was there for the same reason I was. Other than his family he wanted to see some other Americans. When I returned to America we would laugh about that at Jumah every Friday. One of the things I always admired about him was that no matter what he was always the last man out. He would call me to come make fajr at Moominun and he would always give me a good word before he went on his detail for the day. Even at Muminoon he was the last man out. At the Atlanta Masjid every night he was the last man out. So it was very fitting that he returned to Allah in the LAST 10, on the LAST Friday of Ramadan. My prayers are with his wife and kids. You will be missed Brother Bilal. Until we meet again."
