including to read Text non-literally(that is, as other than ‚plain text‘).

 Esp., in a case of a jurisprudent like ash-Shāfiʿī‘ we will have to think of the wider context ofreading beyond the mental world of jurisprudents and in pre-textual mode:The dominant tendency is still to conceive of Islamic law solely on the terms in which it iselaborated in the discourse of the
