It was to be a typical morning shower on a crisp March morning: Rush to get through, dressed and out of the door, but instead it was the morning that would change Jeanette’s life forever. A breast self-exam was not part of Jeanette’s routine but this morning she was inspired to check. She never expected to find the “lump”! Take a deep breath... Follow-up with her Doctor would reveal a rare, life-threatening, aggressive form of Breast Cancer.

Jeanette has successfully completed two rigorous rounds of chemotherapy the last 24 weeks and is now scheduled for a double mastectomy to remove both breasts on September 23rd. This means that Jeanette will have to step away from her sole source of income, advocating for children with Sickle Cell Anemia, and begin the long road to recovery and working mind, body and Spirit to embrace her new normal.

Who is it that will offer up unto God a goodly loan, which He will amply repay?

This is where you can help… and become a member of Team Jeanette. During the months of recovery. there will be no income, as Jeanette is self-employed and works as an independent contractor. Thankfully Jeanette has health insurance but there is the overwhelming out of pocket costs associated with a catastrophic illness and conflicting insurance policies. There will also be life busy happening and monthly living expenses will not cease to demand her attention. As we all can understand, the stress of potential indebtedness can create dis-ease and when we are challenged from many sides, we cannot find relief save but through the kindness and compassion of others.

Your contribution of $25 $50 $100 or more will allow Jeanette to focus on her recovery and return barrier-free to her “happy place” serving others for the pleasure of The Most Beneficent.
