Asalaam Alaykum Friends & Supporters,
May peace and prayers be upon Prophet Muhammad and his family
I am happy to announce that CAIR Georgia has hired a new Communications Director: Sawsan Selim, an accomplished young activist, student, and filmmaker.
As a legal assistant at an accomplished law firm, the director of the Muslim American Society's annual family camp, the director of campus outreach for the Atlanta March for Social Justice & Women, and an intern with CAIR Georgia, Sawsan has both gained and contributed valuable advocacy skills.
She has also won regional, national and international awards as a competitor with Model U.N., and served as a judge, event photographer, and videographer for M.I.S.T. After completing dual degrees in Political Science and Journalism from Georgia State University, she plans to attend law school, insha Allah.
We are excited to welcome Sawsan to our team. As our communications director, Sawsan will support our civil rights work by guiding our social media presence, managing our relationships with media outlets, offering strategic communications advice, and overseeing public events, among other work, iA.
Please come meet and greet and Sawsan at our third annual fundraising gala, Faith Led, Justice Driven, on March 9th, 2019.
Here are all the ways can help us continue to serve, protect, and advocate for justice in Georgia:
