Janaza For Brother Ed Brown (Brother Of Imam Jamil Al-Amin)

الحمد لله رب العالمين و الصلاة و السلام على أشرف الأنبياء و المرسلين نبينا محمد و على آله و صحبه أجمعين , و من تبعهم بإحسان إلى يوم الدين
أما بعد  :

السلام عليكم و رحمة الله و بركاته

 قال عليه السلام : " كلكم راع وكلكم مسئول عن رعيته

قُلۡ إِنَّ صَلَاتِى وَنُسُكِى وَمَحۡيَاىَ وَمَمَاتِى لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِينَ (١٦٢) لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ ۥۖ وَبِذَٲلِكَ أُمِرۡتُ وَأَنَا۟ أَوَّلُ ٱلۡمُسۡلِمِينَ (١٦٣

 

لله ما أخذ ولله ما أعطى

الحمد لله رب العالمين القائل في كتابه المبين «ولنبلونكم بشيء من الخوف والجوع ونقص من الأموال والأنفس والثمرات، وبشر الصابرين الذين إذا أصابتهم مصيبة قالوا إنا لله وإنا إليه راجعون، أولئك عليهم صلوات من ربهم ورحمة وأولئك هم المهتدون»، والقائل سبحانه «إنك ميت وإنهم ميتون».

  For Allah what is taken and for Allah what he has given
Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds,  He says in His book, the most clear «

And surely We shall try you with something of fear and hunger, and loss of wealth and lives and crops; but give glad tidings to the steadfast, (155) Who say, when a misfortune striketh them: Lo! we are Allah's and lo! unto Him we are returning. (156) Such are they on whom are blessings from their Lord, and mercy. Such are the rightly guided. (157)

», and Allah Says, Glory to Him «Lo! thou wilt die, and lo! they will die;».

To the family of ,Brother Ed Brown, Imam Jamil al-Amin's older brother,  just passed away and the janaza will be tomorrow Thursday, November 24, 2011, 28, Dhul Hijjah 1432 A.H.,  at 1pm in the Community Mosque in the West End.  He was a wonderful brother and a friend to all.  He worked hard and cared deeply for the causes of oppressed peoples everywhere.  He was especially involved in the anti-apartheid movement in South Africa which resulted in the freeing from captivity of the hero Nelson Mandela.  Br Ed Brown, for those of you who may not know, gave his shahada to accept Islam some years ago and we pray to Allah to accept Br Ed into the rewarding Paradise for which all believers strive.  Ameen.

Br. Ed(Amir) Brown, a well respected civil rights activist, and former director of the Voter Education Project and also the older brother of Imam Jamil Abdullah Al-Amin, passed away at his home in Atlanta, Georgia. Inna lilahi wa inna illahi rajioon. (From ALLAH we come, and to Him is our return.) He had become a Muslim through the hand of Imam Jamil, and had been struggling with cancer recently. He was given the name Amir by Imam Jamil Al-Amin The janaza (last rites) will be held tomorrow, following salatul dhur (1:30 pm) Internment will be at Lovejoy Cemetary.
